

Podcaster, Professor, Non-profit Director, Doctor of Social Work
Dr. Mark Long is a podcaster, professor, non-profit director, and Doctor of Social Work based in Madison, Wisconsin. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and a person of color, Dr. Long is a passionate advocate for mental health equity—especially in underserved BIPOC and LGBTQ+ populations across rural America.
His educational journey began at the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater, where he earned his Bachelor of Social Work. He went on to receive his Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and completed his Doctorate of Social Work at Capella University in 2022.
Dr. Long’s work bridges scholarship, advocacy, and real-world impact—whether he’s behind the mic, in the classroom, or leading community initiatives. He’s especially committed to dismantling stigma, amplifying marginalized voices, and expanding access to culturally competent care.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dr. Long has embarked on a transformative weight-loss journey, embracing wellness not just as a mission but as a personal milestone. His story reflects resilience, self-love, and the power of intentional change—values he brings to his advocacy and outreach.
Outside of his work, Dr. Long shares his life with his husband in a joyful interracial marriage, and together they parent a lively household of two dogs and three cats. Their home is filled with love, laughter, and the occasional bark-meow symphony
